AntonellaPavese.com fosters virtual participation
Wow, what a great service, Antonella. I just clicked into your page aggregating notes, feeds and tips for those Attending Blogher from wherever you are . Thanks! (And no, I still haven't stopped to eat breakfast. There are now three of us sitting in our jammies, reading or blogging, oblivious to hunger.)

I don't get this whole 'blogher' thing. It doesn't make sense, is it just another women organization trying to get noticed type of thing, we need a nice clear explaination of this.
Trix, the best place to start for an explanation is on the Blogher site at http://www.blogher.org/
For me, my explanation is Blogher is a gathering of bloggers who are mostly women who want to share their experiences and blogging practices, to learn both technology and writing perspectives and to participate in a community of practice around blogging. Oh, and to have a helluva good time.
Think of Scifi fans to gather to talk about their favorite books.
The second issue is related to the tech connection. Most tech related conferences are male dominated in terms of presenters and often participants. There have been those who say that's because a) there aren't enough qualified women in tech speakers and b) women don't care about the conferences. Blogher demonstrated that there is a rich field of talented, smart presenters and lots of women who are interested in a tech related subject.
Now BLogher was not what I'd call a tech conference. In the end, it felt more like a writers conference. That's something I want to think more about.
Thank you, Nancy. I hope you had a great time at Blogher (I saw some pictures of you on Flickr).
I wanted to come to Blogher, but it didn't work out logistically, so I thought that attending the conference virtually was the next best thing, and sharing it with others was the second next best thing.
