Mobile Persuasion
As an interesting side note to my previous post on convergence, check out the Mobile Persuasion Conference, February 2, 2007 - Stanford University.Mobile Persuasion is for innovators, researchers, and companies creating mobile technologies that change people’s beliefs and behaviors.
I've appreciated BJ Fogg's work at Stanford because he looks beyond the technological possibility to the social implications of new technologies. Another case to ask not just "how" but "why" do we do embrace these elements of convergence culture.
Applications include health, commerce, activism, social networking, addiction, advertising, gaming, and environmental conservation.
This full-day event will feature expert presentations and panels on how mobile technology can change attitudes and behaviors. During breaks you can meet other participants or check out the booths and demonstrations.
